Top 5 Must-Attend Events at Rwanda's Digital Transformation Week 2025

Rwanda's technology sector converges for its most significant annual gathering, as Digital Transformation Week 2025 brings together innovators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs from December 15-19 under the theme "Inclusive Digital Transformation for a Sustainable Digital Economy."

The Digital Transformation Week represents a critical juncture in Rwanda's digital journey, aligning with the National Strategy for Transformation's ambitious goal of creating 50,000 digital jobs and training 1.5 million citizens in digital skills by 2029. This year's program features a number of events and we are going to highlight top five flagship events that showcase the breadth and depth of Rwanda's digital ecosystem.

ISACA Rwanda Chapter Inaugural Cybersecurity Workshop

Opening the week on December 15, the ISACA Rwanda Chapter hosts its inaugural Cybersecurity Community Workshop from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Career Center Building's seventh floor (Digital Transformation Center). The workshop addresses a fundamental question; what does Rwanda need for a secure digital future? As the local branch of the global Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA Rwanda brings together IT governance, security, risk, and assurance professionals to establish foundational cybersecurity practices essential for sustainable digital transformation. Tech Decent 2025: Regional Innovation Showcase

On December 16, Tech Decent 2025 spreads across multiple Hanga Hub locations in Rusizi, Nyagatere, Muhanga, and Rubavu, demonstrating digital transformation's reach beyond Kigali. The event spotlights local digital solutions in tourism, trade, and services sectors while empowering participants to understand, adopt, and leverage digital transformation for growth and competitiveness. The comprehensive program includes morning tours and exhibitions at Hanga Hubs showcasing innovations to district administrators, Private Sector Federation representatives, and micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The RubavuTech Bonfire Evening provides networking opportunities for tech entrepreneurs, digital ambassadors, and informal workers, while the Car Free Day activities in Rubavu will include the Certification of Cooperatives and Schools that Adopted Cashless Solutions, demonstrating practical digital inclusion in action.

Digital Jobs and Talents Fair 2025

The three-day Digital Jobs and Talents Fair serves as the week's centerpiece, directly addressing Rwanda's ambitious employment targets. Operating from the Kigali Convention and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali), the fair functions as a dynamic marketplace connecting youth, innovators, employers, and development partners. Five specialized Exhibition Zones showcase the digital transformation value chain, from innovation and entrepreneurship to governance, skills development, and career opportunities.

The zones facilitate collaboration between government agencies, ICT Chamber members, private tech companies, development partners, training institutions including technical and vocational education centers, and digital job seekers. This structured approach ensures every participant discovers opportunities for partnership, learning, and employment while illustrating how collective efforts contribute to achieving the NST2 ICT Sector Strategic Focus Areas.

EdTech Forum: Shaping Rwanda's Digital Education Roadmap

Scheduled for December 18 at 3:00 PM at Mövenpick Hotel Kigali, the EdTech Forum convenes leaders from government, industry, academia, and development partners to reflect on the education technology sector's 2025 achievements and co-design priorities for Rwanda's digital education roadmap in 2026. The forum addresses the critical intersection of education and technology, examining how digital tools can enhance learning outcomes, expand access to quality education, and prepare students for an increasingly digital economy.

ICT Chamber General Assembly and Digital Business Summit 2025

Culminating the week on December 19, the Digital Business Summit, Awards, and Gala at the Kigali Convention Centre represents the flagship closing event. The full-day program integrates three distinct components; a morning General Assembly for ICT Chamber members reviewing governance, performance, and strategic plans; an afternoon Digital Business Summit featuring keynote speeches, high-level panels on innovation, investment, and inclusion, alongside product demonstrations and the Digital Business Awards ceremony; and an evening Gala Dinner strengthening professional networks across Rwanda's digital ecosystem.

The Digital Business Awards recognize excellence across six categories including FinTech Excellence, E-Commerce Excellence, Software Development Excellence, EdTech Excellence, Digital Start-Up Excellence, and the newly introduced Digital Inclusion Award celebrating efforts promoting accessibility in digital services. An all-day digital exhibition provides ICT Chamber members, startups, and innovation hubs space to display cutting-edge solutions, promote Made in Rwanda technologies, and facilitate business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and business-to-government networking.

There are more events that will be happening, however these five events collectively demonstrate Rwanda's commitment to inclusive digital transformation, creating tangible pathways for citizens to participate in and benefit from the digital economy. As the nation progresses toward its Vision 2050 goals, Digital Transformation Week 2025 serves as both a celebration of achievements and a strategic planning session for the challenges ahead, ensuring that Rwanda's digital transformation remains inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with national development priorities.
