  • The company projects aggressive revenue growth, aiming to nearly triple its annualized revenue run rate to over $20 billion in 2026, driven by enterprise product adoption.

  • Anthropic was recently valued at $183 billion after a $13 billion Series F funding round, serving over 300,000 business customers, positioning it as a major competitor to OpenAI.
Following the article, Anthropic released its flagship AI model, Claude Opus 4.5, and is reportedly preparing for a potential IPO in 2026 while seeking a new $10 billion funding round at a $350 billion valuation.

Anthropic has made significant announcements this week, including the release of its newest AI model and reports of substantial revenue projections that position the company as a major competitor in the artificial intelligence market.

Claude Haiku 4.5 Released October 15

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Anthropic released Claude Haiku 4.5, the company's newest small-scale AI model. According to the company's announcement, the model delivers coding performance similar to Claude Sonnet 4 at one-third the cost and more than twice the speed.

TechCrunch reported that on the SWE-Bench Verified benchmark, Haiku 4.5 scored 73 percent, performing on par with Sonnet 4, GPT-5, and Gemini 2.5. The model is priced at $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens.

In an unusual move, Anthropic made Haiku 4.5 available for free to all users of its Claude.ai platform. VentureBeat noted that the decision effectively democratizes access to what the company characterizes as near-frontier-level intelligence.

GitHub announced that Claude Haiku 4.5 is rolling out in GitHub Copilot for Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise users.

Aggressive Revenue Growth Targets

On October 16, 2025, Reuters reported that Anthropic is projecting to more than double and potentially nearly triple its annualized revenue run rate in 2026. According to sources cited in the report, the company's annual revenue run rate is approaching $7 billion this month and is on track to reach $9 billion by the end of 2025.

For 2026, Anthropic has set targets of more than $20 billion in annualized revenue, with sources indicating a base case projection exceeding that figure. The revenue growth is attributed to rapid adoption of enterprise products, including Claude Code, which is approaching $1 billion in annual recurring revenue according to the Reuters report.

Salesforce Expands Partnership

On October 14, 2025, Salesforce announced at its Dreamforce 2025 conference that it is expanding its partnership with Anthropic. The collaboration focuses on Agentforce 360, Salesforce's suite of AI features. According to the announcement, Salesforce will internally roll out Anthropic's Claude Code programming assistant to its engineers.

Northeastern University Collaboration

On October 15, 2025, Anthropic and Northeastern University announced a strategic partnership to co-design and develop a roadmap for the future of higher education. According to the announcement, Anthropic is working with Northeastern to design best practices for AI integration in higher education, including new AI-powered tools and frameworks for responsible AI adoption.

Daniela Amodei, president and co-founder of Anthropic, stated in the announcement that the company believes AI will have a profound impact on all facets of education. The university is rolling out Anthropic's Claude for Education platform to provide secure AI access across the enterprise.

White House AI Czar Criticizes Anthropic

On October 15, 2025, Bloomberg reported that White House AI czar David Sacks posted criticism of Anthropic on social media platform X. Sacks wrote that "Anthropic is running a sophisticated regulatory capture strategy based on fear-mongering" and claimed the company "is principally responsible for the state regulatory frenzy that is damaging the startup ecosystem."

The post quoted Jack Clark, Anthropic's co-founder and head of policy, who had shared an essay titled "Technological Optimism and Appropriate Fear." According to Bloomberg, Clark told the publication he found Sacks' attack "perplexing."
