OpenAI to Allow Erotica Generation in ChatGPT for Verified Adult Users

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on October 14, 2025, that ChatGPT will soon allow verified adult users to generate erotic content as part of a broader shift to "treat adult users like adults." "We realize this made it less useful and enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue, we wanted to get this right," he stated.
