Rwandan Students Win Top Awards at Huawei ICT Global Finals in China

Rwandan students have made the country proud after securing top honors at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 Global Final in Shenzhen, China.

Competing against more than 220,000 participants from over 100 countries and regions, the students showcased Rwanda's growing digital talent on one of the world's biggest technology stages.

Rwanda Brings Home Two Major Awards

Three Rwandan teams advanced to the Global Final, representing the country in different competition tracks.

The Network Track Team delivered an outstanding performance and won First Prize, while the Cloud & Computing Track Team earned Second Prize. The results placed Rwanda among the competition's top-performing countries.

The achievement was celebrated by both the Rwandan Embassy in China and stakeholders in Rwanda's technology sector, who highlighted the importance of investing in young digital talent.

The Huawei ICT Competition is an international program that tests students' skills in areas such as networking, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.

Every year, students from universities and higher learning institutions around the world compete by solving technical challenges designed to reflect real-world technology environments.
