Ms. Geek Africa 2026 Opens Applications for Young Female AI Innovators

Young girls and women across Africa now have an opportunity to showcase their innovation skills through the Ms. Geek Africa 2026 competition. Organized under the Smart Africa Alliance initiative, the program is inviting participants aged 13 to 21 from Smart Africa Member States to submit Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered solutions addressing real challenges facing African communities.

The competition aims to encourage more young women to participate in technology and innovation while using AI to solve social problems affecting women and girls across the continent.

Encouraging Young Women in Technology

Ms. Geek Africa focuses on empowering the next generation of female innovators by giving them a platform to turn ideas into impactful projects. Participants are expected to develop AI-based solutions that can improve lives in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, financial inclusion, and community development.

The initiative also seeks to close the gender gap in technology by inspiring more girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

Winners to Gain Mentorship and Continental Exposure

Selected participants will receive mentorship from industry experts and gain exposure through the Transform Africa Summit (TAS) 2026, one of Africa’s major technology and digital transformation events.

According to the announcement, participants will also compete for prizes and networking opportunities that could help develop their ideas further.

The competition provides young innovators with a chance to present their projects to policymakers, investors, technology leaders, and innovation stakeholders from across Africa.

Applications are open to:

• Girls and young women aged 13-21

• Citizens of Smart Africa Member States

• Applicants with innovative AI-powered ideas or projects
