The University of Rwanda (UR) is the nation's primary public higher education institution, established in 2013 through the merger of seven previously independent public universities and institutes to consolidate resources, elevate academic standards, and align education with national development needs. Operating as a singular, multi-campus entity across Rwanda, the University is organized into six specialized colleges offering a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as science and technology, medicine, business, education, and agriculture.
