About the Role

One Acre Fund believes that technology is critical to building the most efficient rural distribution network on the African continent. The software development team manages a suite of web and mobile tools that support field operations—enabling the registration of millions of farmers, optimizing delivery routes, tracking supplies, processing payments, and improving decision-making through data analysis.

The system under your leadership will focus on the Odoo ERP platform coded in Python with a JavaScript-based POS frontend. It runs in a containerized cloud environment using Kubernetes. The team also works with tools like GitHub (and GitHub Actions), JIRA, and Azure.

Responsibilities

Report to engineering leadership.
Lead a 5–8 member software development team using Agile methodologies.
Drive One Acre Fund’s technology transformation toward modular, event-driven systems.
Improve development processes, automation, and software quality.
Mentor developers and foster professional growth.
Build and sustain a strong, collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software development, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Odoo or ERP systems.
Experience with cloud-native architecture, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (CSM/CSPO certification preferred).
Passion for automation, quality assurance, and continuous learning.
