About the Role

We’re expanding our development team in Kigali and seeking a developer who loves backend challenges but also enjoys touching the frontend when needed.

As a Software Engineer (Python/Django), you’ll:

Design and develop scalable applications and APIs.
Work with modern cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and product owners.
Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews.
Take initiative in problem-solving, improving systems, and automating workflows.

About You

You are a mid-level software engineer (4+ years) with strong experience in backend development and a good grasp of full-stack principles. You care about writing clean, maintainable code and are comfortable working across all layers of a system — from databases to APIs to UI.

You’re curious, proactive, and passionate about continuous improvement.

Key Skills and Experience

Proficiency in Python and Django / Django REST Framework
Experience with PostgreSQL and strong SQL knowledge
Comfortable with JavaScript / TypeScript / React for frontend integration
Working experience with Celery and task queues
Familiarity with Flask and API design (REST / OpenAPI / GraphQL)
Understanding of authentication standards (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML)
Experience in Docker and containerized environments
Knowledge of AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, ECS, SNS, Fargate)
Exposure to DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, ELK stack
Strong sense of UI/UX quality and user-centered design principles
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and modern testing tools
Version control with Git
