The East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) is a semi-autonomous institution of the East African Community (EAC) that promotes and coordinates the development, management, and application of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in the region. Its main goal is to foster regional integration and socio-economic development through enhanced scientific and technological capabilities in partner states. The commission, which became operational in 2015, is headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda.
