Many startups in East Africa fail not because of weak products, but because they struggle to turn early traction into consistent growth. A new accelerator is now stepping in to address that gap.
Clarus and Norrsken East Africa have launched Scale Velocity, a virtual go-to-market accelerator designed for startups across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
Focus on Growth, Not Just Product Building
The program targets early-stage startups that already have a product, some traction, or a clear market opportunity, but are still struggling with sales and customer acquisition.
Instead of focusing on product development, Scale Velocity helps founders fix core growth challenges such as positioning, pricing, messaging, and sales execution.
Selected startups will work on identifying what is blocking their growth, whether it is weak conversion rates, unclear customer targeting, or inefficient sales processes.
Practical Support From Operators and Mentors
Unlike traditional training programs, Scale Velocity is built around practical execution.
Founders will receive mentorship from operators who actively work with startups on growth, communications, and scaling strategies. The goal is to help teams build systems they can immediately apply to their businesses.
The program also connects founders to ecosystem networks through Norrsken East Africa, offering exposure to investors, partners, and industry leaders.
Investor Exposure Through Final Showcase
At the end of the program, selected startups will take part in an Activation Showcase, where they will present their solutions to investors and key stakeholders across the region.
This is expected to give founders both visibility and potential funding or partnership opportunities.
Applications Now Open
The first cohort is open to startups based in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
For more information, Register to attend a session which will be held on May 11, 2026, where founders can learn more and ask questions.
Applications can be submitted through the official platform: https://scalevelocitylab.com
