AmaliTech Opens Applications for Six-Month Software Engineering Apprenticeship in Rwanda

AmaliTech has opened applications for its latest Apprenticeship Programme in Rwanda, offering aspiring software developers and data engineers an opportunity to gain practical industry experience while working alongside experienced engineers.

Supported by DEG Impulse, the six-month, full-time programme is designed for final-year university students and recent graduates who want to build careers in software development, data engineering, quality assurance, and DevOps.

Hands-On Training Across Six Technology Tracks

The apprenticeship combines structured learning with real-world project experience, helping participants develop skills that meet international software engineering standards.

Applicants can choose from six specializations:

  • Data Engineering

  • Python Backend + AI App Development

  • Java Backend Development

  • JavaScript Full Stack Development

  • Quality Assurance (QA)

  • DevOps

Throughout the programme, apprentices will receive mentorship from senior engineers working on global client projects while gaining exposure to modern development tools and AI-powered technologies.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to individuals currently living in Rwanda or those willing to relocate. Eligible applicants include final-year university students approaching graduation and recent graduates in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.

Candidates should have at least six months of practical programming experience gained through internships, personal projects, hackathons, online courses, or other training programmes. They are also expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, effective communication skills, and fluency in English.

Each specialization includes additional technical requirements based on the chosen track, with some areas also listing preferred skills that can strengthen an application.

What Participants Will Receive

Selected apprentices will participate in the programme full-time from Monday to Friday for six months.

The programme offers:

  • A monthly stipend

  • A company laptop

  • Breakfast, lunch, and snacks

  • Access to modern software development tools

  • Mentorship from experienced engineers

  • Hands-on experience through industry-relevant projects

According to AmaliTech, the apprenticeship is designed to help participants transition from local coding experience to globally competitive software engineering practice while creating pathways to future career opportunities within the company and its partner network.

The recruitment process includes an application review, an in-person assessment, technical and behavioural interviews, and the final offer stage.
